Do you think American Idol judges are too harsh?

I'd always felt that Simon was a bit too harsh, but I blew that off on the fact that he's British. Many of the Brit's I know are very straightforward. No biggie, right?



And Jewel! I thought she was awfully harsh considering this was the first time she'd done anything like this.



So what's up? Do the producers of American Idol really think America tunes in just to watch the judges make fun of contestants?



I'd much prefer seeing real talent that I'm likely to follow until the end of the show.
